The term “work” means a creative production that expresses human thoughts and emotions.
In certain circumstances, works are protected under the Copyright Act.

Q. I plan to use a work as part of an in-class presentation at school.
Do I need to seek permission from the copyright owner?

No. Persons receiving education from a school or educational institution may partially reproduce, distribute, or publicly transmit a work if necessary for class purposes.
